Making Today A Good Day

I guess you can say that I am a morning person. It does not matter what time that I wake up but once I get up, drink a cup of coffee I am raring ready to go. As I head out the door, get into my truck, a song will come to my head and I will begin to sing. On some days, I feel as though I could dance (though I would never try to do that in front of anyone or maybe I would). Yes, I believe I am a morning person.

As I was on my way to the church this morning, with coffee in hand, doing my dance and singing my song, I got to thinking of why this day was so wonderful. Then as I was pulling into the parking lot of the church, it was as though Heaven opened up and a revelation came to me. This day is wonderful because of choice. What I mean by that is this, no matter what happens today, we can make it be whatever we want it to be. I believe the prophet Habakkuk had this in view when he wrote: “Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock maybe cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” Habakkuk 3:17-19 Though Habakkuk was facing some terrible days, he was choosing for them to be good because of his faith and reliance on God. No matter how horrible today may be, remember it can still be a good day, but only if you want it to be. Let’s choose to make this a good day!!!
