16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
When I was a child , I had difficulty reading. No matter how hard I tried the words never did make sense. One day all that changed and afterward reading became an adventure. Every book I came to or every road sign I would see, I would read it with excitement and joy.
At one time God’s Word was the same for when I looked at it the Words never did make sense. I would try and try to read God’s Word but always walk away hopeless. One day all that changed for I saw more in God’s Word than a book but an essential tool in my Christian life. What once seemed to make no sense, made perfect sense for in this word were more than words but instruction on how to live the way God wants us to live.
Today you may struggle in reading God’s Word may I encourage you not to give up but to keep on reading. You will be glad you did!!!
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” – 1 John 3:16
The rich man asked Jesus, “Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17). Then Jesus asked him if he had kept the law. He said yes. In love Jesus responded, “One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me” (Mark 10:21b). But the rich man was “sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions” (Mark 10:22).
Jesus let him go. Jesus didn’t run after him. And there’s another thing I want you to notice: Jesus didn’t lower His standards.
Is there anything you love more than Jesus? You must willingly lay it down to be saved.–Adrian Rogers
“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14
The hardest thing that a lot of believers struggle with is dependence on the Lord. Our tendency is to handle our problems and trial on our own through worrying and complaining. We lose sleep, eat more, and keep our complete focus it. In the end that never helps.
Scripture tells us that Israel was faced with a dilemma, their reaction was to worry and complain. Moses instructed them to remain calm and let the Lord fight for them. When we feel as though everything is out of control that is when we need to remember the ONE who is on our side. When God is with us, we have nothing to fear and nothing to worry about.

11 “Then He said, ‘Go out, and stand on the mountain before theLord.’ And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.”
Elijah was a true prophet of God. He was called to confront the false prophets of Baal. When he proved that there was only one God and destroyed the false prophets of Baal, he was on the run for his life. Elijah feeling the all the pressure He was going through wanted to quit and give up but God did not let him . Instead God took him to a high mountain and on that mountain he seen the work of God displayed through the earthquake, wind and finally in a still small voice.
What God was showing Elijah is what He always is showing us, that He is always there. No matter how tough life may get, or how noisy life may seem, if we listen closely we can hear God’s voice encouraging us and reminding us that He is there.
